Top Ten Tuesday – Interesting and Unique Fictional Jobs

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s topic is: Characters Whose Job I Wish I Had. I changed the topic slightly to interesting and unique fictional jobs because some of this jobs would be terrible to have.

A Scythe (Arc of a Scythe by Neal Shusterman) – I definitely wouldn’t want this job as it entails killing people but I did think it was a very unique fictional job and I found the plot and world of Scythe so intriguing as it revolved around this job.

A Librarian (The Library of the Unwritten by A.J. Hackwith) – I thought this was such an interesting job in this book because not only does it involve being a librarian but being a librarian to all the books that haven’t been written and have to manage tracking down the characters in them if they escape.

A Superhero (Renegades by Marissa Meyer) – This would definitely be a great job to have but its definitely dangerous in the world of Renegades as there are so many villains as well.

An Agent (This Is How You Lose the Time War by Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone) – I still don’t know the full extent to what the agents in this book do but I thought it very unique anyway.

A Shadowhunter (Shadowhunter Chronicles by Cassandra Clare) – Fighting demons and saving the world sounds very cool but again it’s another dangerous job.

An Assassin (Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas) – Obviously I could’ve picked a lot of books with an assassin in it so it’s not a unique job but definitely an interesting one.

What fictional jobs do you find interesting?

  1. I like your take on this week’s prompt. Some of these are definitely interesting–and some could be fun–but I agree they are dangerous and not as pleasant as one would hope!
