Today I decided to do a post talking about some YA fantasy books I think are underrated. Even though some of these books have a good amount of ratings I still think they are a bit unknown in the book community which is why I’ve included them here. So let’s get unto the books!
Daughters of Nri (The Return of the Earth Mother #1) by Reni K. Amayo
• Twin sisters separated at birth
• Captured my attention from the beginning
• Goddesses and powers
Heart of Mist (The Ormere Chronicles #1) by Helen Scheuerer
• Forbidden magic
• Epic plotline
• Intriguing characters and backstories
State of Sorrow (Sorrow #1) by Melinda Salisbury
• Focus on politics
• Court scheming
• Great descriptions of the different lands
A Treason of Thorns by Laura Weymouth
• Whimsical story
• Magical houses
• Unique premise
The Light Between Worlds by Laura Weymouth
• Narnia like world and story
• Has both fantasy and historical (WW2) setting
• Focuses on a character with depression
The Glass Spare by Lauren DeStefano
• Character has power to turn people into gemstone
• Warring Kingdoms
• Interesting family dynamics
What are some YA fantasies you think are underrated?
