I really like going over my year of reading and reflecting on what books were my favourite throughout the year. These books are not in any particular order but they are all books I loved and gave five stars too.
Raybearer & Redemptor by Jordan Ifueko
I loved reading this duology and I thought the world and characters were amazing. The writing completely enraptured me and I think the author is a wonderful storyteller.
A Kingdom of Flesh and Fire and The Crown of Gilded Bones (Blood and Ash #2 & #3) by Jennifer L. Armentrout
I liked From Blood and Ash but I definitely liked these two books more. I loved how the relationship develops between Poppy and Casteel in these books and I really enjoyed seeing Poppy grow more.
Reclaimed (Shadow Beast Shifters #2) by Jaymin Eve
I read the first and third book of this series in 2021 too but Reclaimed is my favourite of them. I grew more attached to Mera in this book and liked seeing her and Shadow together.
The House in the Cerulean Sea by T.J. Klune
I loved the themes of this book and how it had such deep topics mixed with such a whimsical story. I really liked reading about the characters and I’m excited to read more books by this author.
A Court of Silver Flames (ACOTAR #4) by Sarah J. Maas
I was so surprised at how much I grew to love Nesta in this book. Reading about her struggles really made me feel differently towards her and I loved how Sarah J Maas writes her characters and makes you love them so completely.
Chain of Iron (The Last Hours #2) by Cassandra Clare
I enjoyed the first book in this series but I loved this one even more. The tension between the characters really ramped up and I loved their interactions with each other in this book.
A Song of Wraiths and Ruin (A Song of Wraiths and Ruin #1) by Roseanne A. Brown
I was so captivated by the plot of this book and I really enjoyed reading about the characters and their choices. I loved Malik’s pov the most and really liked how anxiety played a big part in Malik’s life, it was nice to see that included in a fantasy story.
Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson
I liked the world the author created in this book with there being great libraries full of books that have their own personalities. I loved the characters and how all got along with each other.
Leviathan Wakes & Caliban’s War (The Expanse #1 & #2) by James S.A. Corey
I started The Expanse series in 2021 and I’m really loving the books so far. I knew I would at least like them since I’ve already watched the tv series of The Expanse and loved that. This series (both the tv show and books) are so action packed and fast paced with such intriguing plots.
A Dowry of Blood by S.T. Gibson
I loved how lyrical the writing of this book was and how captivating the story was. It’s told in a letter format from Constanta to her vampire creator and is such a beautifully written story that really makes you think.
Cemetery Boys by Aiden Thomas
I think this is such a perfect autumn read and I really loved it. I loved reading about Yadrial and Julian’s interactions with each other and I really liked their romance.
