My Favourite Book Couples Part 2

A few years ago I did a post talking about some of my favourite book couples and since then I’ve read a lot more books so I thought I’d list some recent favourite book couples/romances.

Robin and Zylas (The Guild Codex: Demonized series by Annette Marie) – I loved reading this series and seeing Robin and Zylas grow together and learn from one another. Zylas is a demon who knows nothing of how humans act so it was interesting to read their interactions with each other.

Cat and Alex (Chaos Reigning – Consortium Rebellion #3 by Jessie Mihalik) – This is a sci-fi series that follows a different sibling in each book and I really liked the first two books but I think I enjoyed this one slightly more because I think the couple had more chemistry.

Callie and Desmond (The Bargainer series by Laura Thalassa) – I loved Callie and Desmond’s relationship, they have one of those relationships that you just want to keep reading about.

Poppy and Hawke (Blood and Ash series by Jennifer L. Armentrout) – I didn’t really fall in love with this relationship until the second book. A Kingdom of Flesh and Fire really focuses on them as a couple and I loved reading about them together.

Red and Blue (This Is How You Lose The Time War by Max Gladstone and Amal El-Mohtar) – This book is so unique and the characters and romance is so captivating to read.

Who are some of your favourite book couples? What are some of your favourite romances?

August Wrap Up 2020

What I Read In August:

The Falling in Love Montage by Ciara Smyth – 4 STARS

I enjoyed this book and thought it was cute and fun with Saoirse and Ruby talking about films and likening their romance to scenes from films. I also liked that it wasn’t only fun and cute but that it had a deeper more complex storyline under it with the main character dealing with her mother having early onset dementia and her fears that she might get it too.

Chaos Reigning (Consortium Rebellion #3) by Jessie Mihalik – 5 STARS

I’ve really liked the Consortium Rebellion trilogy and I think my favourite of the trilogy would have to be this book. It follows Catarina, the youngest member of the von Hasenberg High House, and I really liked her character. I also liked the romance and how it starts off as an act but then develops into more. I’m sad this trilogy is over because I really wanted to read more about the characters of these books.

Cinderella Is Dead by Kalynn Bayron – 5 STARS

I loved Cinderella Is Dead, it puts a very original twist on an old classic. The book is thought provoking and I loved how it made me think about the original Cinderella story. I loved the themes and messages of this book and I liked how Sophia wasn’t afraid to stand up and make a change. You can find my full review of it here.

I Hear the Sunspot: Theory of Happiness by Yuki Fumino – 4 STARS

I really like this manga and I love how the relationship between the characters is developing. I love their interactions between each other and how different they are from each other. I liked finding out more of what Taichi wants to do in his life and I can’t wait to continue on with the series.

Renegades (Renegades #1) by Marissa Meyer – 4.5 STARS

Archenemies (Renegades #2) by Marissa Meyer – 4.5 STARS

Supernova (Renegades #3) by Marissa Meyer – 4.5 STARS

I thought I’d talk about this trilogy overall instead of individually since I read them all back to back. I loved this trilogy and I can’t believe how quickly I flew through these books especially since two of them are over 500 pages. I was so immersed into the superhero world of the Renegades and I thought the storyline was very captivating. I loved all the talk of different super powers and really liked how the plot progressed with each book. This trilogy definitely surprised me as I wasn’t expecting to like it as much as I did, I’m glad I read it.
