January Wrap Up 2022

What I Read In January:

crush skyhunter
Crush (Crave #2) by Tracy Wolff – YA PARANORMAL – 4 STARS

I’ve been really enjoying this series so far and I liked this book slightly more than the first. I liked how this book twisted things around in the story and how we get to find out more about Hudson in it. I’m excited to continue with the series.

Skyhunter (Skyhunter #1) by Marie Lu – YA SCI-FI, FANTASY, DYSTOPIA – 3 STARS

I was disappointed by Skyhunter, it was an okay read but I felt that there wasn’t anything stand out about it and the story and characters felt very forgettable.

the one and only crystal the long forgotten winter king
The One and Only Crystal Druid (The Guild Codex: Unveiled #1) – NEW ADULT/ADULT URBAN FANTASY – 4 STARS
The Long-Forgotten Winter King (The Guild Codex: Unveiled #2) – NEW ADULT/ADULT URBAN FANTASY – 4 STARS

I’ve been excited for this series since it was announced because I loved reading about Zak in the previous Guild Codex books and wanted to know more about him. I’ve enjoyed the first two books and I also loved reading about Saber and finding out about her and how she gets mixed up with Zak.

when the tiger a dowry of blood a memory called empire

When the Tiger Came Down the Mountain (The Singing Hills Cycle #2) by Nghi Vo – I read the first book in this series last month and was intrigued to continue with this series even though they are standalone stories.

A Dowry of Blood by S.T. Gibson – This book is a reimagining of Dracula with the focus on his brides and it sounds like it would be an interesting read.

A Memory Called Empire (Teixcalaan #1) by Arkady Martine – This is a sci-fi/ fantasy space opera book and I’ve seen so many good reviews of it. I don’t really know too much of what it’s about but I’m excited for it anyway.

Top Ten Tuesday – Book Covers That Have Animals On Them

ttt- book covers with animals pic 0

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s topic is: Cover Freebie. I’ve done a few posts about covers before like my favourite covers, covers with hearts on them and covers that I thought represented the book well but today I thought I’d show some of the books I’ve read that have animals on the covers. Searching through my books I realised that there are a lot more birds on book covers than I realised so since there are so many book covers with birds I decided to make the topic a little harder by NOT including book covers with only birds on them.
