Author: Sandy Williams
Genre: Adult Sci-fi, romance, space opera

She won her freedom. Can she win a war?

Commander Rhys Rykus is facing court martial. With his career on the line, he’s ordered to keep his distance from the brainwashed Ash and protect her from afar, but sinister elements threaten her safety. He accepts a new mission that puts them on the same warship, knowing it will take all his self-control to fight his feelings for her.

Lieutenant Ramie Ashdyn is no stranger to fighting for her life. Still under the influence of the Coalition’s brainwashing, she cares little for her own safety. She merely wants to protect the Coalition… and reconnect with Rykus.

Rykus knows how important Ash is to keeping all of them alive, but the target on her back is enormous. Will the growing threat to the Coalition take down Ash and Rip’s only shot at love?

My Rating: 5 STARS

My Review:

I really liked the first book in this series but I loved this one even more. I loved the characters especially the new side characters that were introduced in this book. Sandy Williams is great at writing really likable characters.

Ash is still my favourite character of the series. I liked seeing the more emotional side of her that is dealing with the things that happened in the first book. But what I liked most about her character in this book was that she was still witty and confident whilst trying to handle her emotions. I liked Rykus’ character a lot more in this book because we got to know a lot more about his background and his relationship with his father.

I really enjoyed the storyline, it was just as action packed as the first but this time you get to see more of a political side of things with the relationships of the planets which was really interesting. I feel like I got a better understanding of the universe/worlds in this book. I liked finding out different things about each planet and I’m excited to read more about them.

Overall I loved this book. I think it’s a great sequel and I can’t wait for the next book in the series.
