I’ve seen this fun summery book tag going about and I thought I’d do it, the original creator is Deanna @ The Comfy Reader. So let’s get onto the questions:
QUESTIONS:
THE BEACH – a book set somewhere tropical –
Under a Dancing Star by Laura Wood – This book is set in Italy in the summer and I remember there being a few descriptions of how hot the weather was.
MUSIC FESTIVAL – a book with a focus on music –
The Air You Breathe by Frances de Pontes Peebles – The Air You Breathe is about two girls who come together through music and grow up seeking a career in music and the hardships they each face along the way, it’s a beautifully written story.
WATERMELON – a book with a juicy secret –
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid – Evelyn Hugo’s story definitely has some juicy secrets in it.
WATER PARK – a book set near or on the water –
Into the Drowning Deep by Mira Grant – This book takes place on a ship and it is about investigating what went wrong on a previous deep sea voyage of the Mariana Trench.
ICE CREAM – a book or genre that is a guilty pleasure
I couldn’t really think of a book or genre for this question.
PICNIC WITH FRIENDS – a book about friendship –
Proof of Forever by Lexa Hillyer – The main theme of this book is rekindling an old friendship and it’s over the course of summer so it’s perfect for this tag.
ROAD TRIP – a book that takes you on an adventure –
Every Heart a Doorway by Seanan McGuire – I feel like all the books in the Wayward Children series take you on an adventure because they also have different worlds within them that the characters explore.
SUNBURN – a book that you regret reading –
To be Taught, If Fortunate by Becky Chambers – It’s not that I regret reading this book, it’s just that the story sounded very interesting but I ended up being disappointed because I found the story and characters to be boring.
SUMMER DRESS – a book that is light and cute –
Pumpkinheads by Rainbow Rowell and Faith Erin Hicks – This was such a light and cute graphic novel.
MOSQUITO – a book with an annoying character –
Serpent & Dove by Shelby Mahurin – I really didn’t like Reid, his whole attitude was very annoying.
Have you read any of these books? What would be some of your answers to these questions?
